CAMPBELL, Allister Colin Muir (1891-1971)Allister Colin Muir Campbell was born at Omeo, Victoria, on 1 February 1891, the son of Archibald Lorne Campbell and Esther Annie nee Hollis.
He was a day student at Geelong College entering at Easter 1900. At College he served in the School Cadets.
He was awarded the following academic prizes:

After leaving College he spent six months in the North Sydney Rifle Club. He was employed as a bank clerk before World War I.
During World War I, he enlisted (No 3025) in the AIF 13th Battalion, on 2 July 1915, and embarked on
HMAT A8 Argyllshire on 30 September 1915. He was wounded at Mouquet Farm on 14 August 1916, suffering gunshot wounds to the thigh and shoulder, this action is graphically described by T A White in the unit history,
The Fighting Thirteenth. He was evacuated from Havre to England on
HS Asturias. He returned to the front, where he was promoted T/Sergeant on 5 November 1918. He returned to Australia, embarking on 28 March 1919. Allister Campbell died in 12 August 1971.
His brothers,
John Hollis Campbell (1895 - 1989) and Archibald Hugh Campbell (1888-1974), also attended Geelong College.
