COUSEN, David Andrew (1939-2022)

David Cousen boarded at the College from 1954-1956, completing Form III to VM. In his first year, David was second in his class behind the Dux and was amongst the best players of the Under 15A football team. He continued to play football throughout his time at the school, competing in the U16A and 2nd XVIII teams, and received multiple McArthur House football colours. David placed well in the athletics competitions and was a member of the College relay team for two years. In 1956 he was also a part of the 2nd XI cricket team. Outside of sport, David was a member of the PFA committee and cadets, serving as corporal in charge of the Kilt and Q store.

Following his education, David returned to farm at Sea Lake. He married Marie in 1965, and they have four children who all attended the College: Ross (OGC 1983), Louise (dec) (OGC 1986), Catherine (OGC 1987) and Nicola (OGC 1989).

David passed away 13 January 2022, aged 82 years.
