Richard Crawshay (House Prefect 1963).

Richard Briscoe Crawshay, born on 4 November 1945, became a boarder at Geelong College from 14 February 1957 to December 1963. At the time of his enrolment his address was 'Woolbrook' near Teesdale and he was enrolled by Mrs J G Morrison. At College he was a member of the 2nd Cricket XI in 1962 and 1963 (Captain), a 'Senior House' Prefect and a Cadet Corps Sergeant in 1963.

He was called up under the National Service Scheme, serving (No. 3788636) in Vietnam as a Gunner with 4 Field Regiment, Royal Regiment of Australian Artillery from 2 May 1967 until 12 February 1968. The Department of Veterans’ Affairs lists him with Vietnam Service (National Service) as a Gunner with the Royal Regiment of Australian Artillery.

He was a founding Director of Crawshay Consultants: Payroll Specialists in Melbourne.

Four of his sons attended Melbourne Grammar School, one of whom, David Crawshay, won an Olympic Gold Medal in the men's double sculls rowing at the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008.

Richard died on 16 November 2017.
