CULLEN, Francis Hewer Hay (1897-1974)
Grazier, Francis Cullen was born at Blackall, Queensland, on 13 February 1897 to parents George Trimboy Cullen and Helen Marie nee Evans.
He was educated as a day student at Geelong College from 9 December 1914 to December 1914. His address at enrolment was 281 Pakington Street, Geelong. He had previously attended Sydney Grammar School.
During World War I he enlisted in the AIF on 19 July 1918 attached to the 16th General Service (Victorian) Reinforcement Group . He embarked from Sydney per SS Carpentaria on 7 November 1918, his vessel reached Auckland when news of the Armistice was received, consequently he was discharged on 24 December with the demobilization of the AIF. He served in Australia with the Volunteer Defence Corps (VDC) during World War II.
