CUTTS, Aubrey Reginald (1893-1972)Aubrey Reginald Cutts was enrolled as a day student at Geelong College from 1909 to 1910. His entry address was Aberdeen St, Geelong.
He was born at Wycheproof on 26 November 1893, the son of Joseph Edward Cutts and Fanny nee Trevett, of Retford House, Geelong.
He enlisted (No 11702) on 21 March 1916, as a Private with the 3rd Division Supply Column, Mechanical Transport (26th Australian Service Corps), and embarked on
HMAT A19 Afric on 5 June. He was at camp in Salisbury Plain in England on 31 October 1916, where he was treated for illness by Doctor McPhee, ( Robert George McPhee, of Geelong, whose brother Stanley Charles McPhee, an Old Collegian, was killed while serving with 57 Battalion on 8 August 1918, and buried at Heath Cemetery, Harbonnieres – Grave II.E.17) as reported by the
Geelong Advertiser on 11 November 1916.
He embarked for France from Southampton on 25 November 1916, serving there with 3rd Motor Transport Company. He took leave to England in mid-November 1918, and Paris leave in late February 1919. He returned to Australia on
HMT Karmala, arriving home on 10 May.
He died in 1972.
His brother,
Lionel Ray Cutts (1891-1975), was also a day student at Geelong College.
