FENCING (Sport)

Fencing Included Sabre, Foils and Epee Teams. In 1998, 2001 and 2002, students competed in the National Under 20 School Teams Championships in Sydney. Ad Astra recorded in 1996 that ‘in recent times the College Fencing Team has achieved outstanding results at the national level, winning four of the past six Australian titles and qualifying three boys to the National Team.’ For the first time in many years the College entered a team in the School Teams competition in 2010. Teams were coached by Neil Hick in 1998 and 1999. Notable fencers at College included William Dolley, Nick Heffernan and Andrew Newlands.
