The 'Garnet Fielding Wing' on Noble St combines, in its façade, elements of the old school with more contemporary design. Named after The Geelong College Council Chairman from 1981 until 1996, Garnet Stewart Fielding, the building originally housed a chemistry laboratory, computing centre and four general classrooms. Designed by McGlashan Everist Architects it was constructed in 1990 by Rendine Constructions Pty Ltd.

It replaced Tennis Courts on this site first funded by the well-known Hawkes Family of Geelong. This first asphalted tennis court built by Conway and Evans was presented to the School by Mrs T S Hawkes on 3 September, 1912. It was on the site of the original stables for the School built in about 1871. A second tennis court was donated by Eric and James Russell in 1920 and a third was built here in 1925.
