GRACE, John Playfair Campbell (1910-1972)


Sometimes known as Playfair John Campbell Gray, he was born at Kowloon, China on 8 January 1910 and after attending Worcester Grammar School in England he was enrolled at Geelong College from 19 September 1923 to September 1924. His address at enrolment was 'Carinya', Noble St, Newtown, Geelong.

During World War II he enlisted (No. VX72993) in the Australian Army at Caulfield, Victoria on 6 February 1942. He gave as his residence, Irymple, Victoria, He was as a Bombardier with 2/12 Field Regiment when he was discharged on 5 February 1946. He is listed on the DVA World War II Nominal Roll. He is not listed with service on the Geelong College World War II Memorial Tablet.
