GREENWOOD, Arthur (1848-1928)

Arthur Greenwood, brother of George Morrison's wife, Rebecca, nee Greenwood (1837-1932), came to Australia in 1861, becoming one of George Morrison’s foundation year students.

Arthur is recorded in the 1861 Census of England as staying on holiday with Rebecca’s aunt and grandmother in Hull in April of that year. He was born on 7 June 1848 at Crosby Garret, Torkshire, England, son of John Richardson and Jane, nee Irving.

He is believed to have become a student at Geelong College in 1861. In 1863, Arthur won third prize for Scripture. He became president of the Old Collegians Association in 1913.

He married Alice Mary, nee Edols, but had no children. He died on 12 October 1928.
