GREGORY, Clive (1898-1966)
He was born 14 November 1898, the son of Edward John Gregory and Mary Elizabeth nee Tonkin, of Murchison, Victoria. He was educated at Murchison State School and Geelong College. He enlisted (61398) on the 6 March 1918, embarked on HMAT A37 Barambah on 31 August 1918 for England and subsequently in France with the 11th General Service Reinforcements (Victorian) . He was transferred to 14th Company, Australian Army Service Corps as a driver. Gregory returned to Australia, embarking on 1 August 1919.
His older brother, Major E A E Gregory, 8th Light Horse, was killed in action at Russell’s Top on Gallipoli on 27 June 1915, and buried at Ari Burnu Cemetery.
Clive Gregory died in 1966.
