Sarah Hope Schofield, fashion designer, has pursued her dream from Bannockburn’s paddocks to the studios of Christian Dior in Paris. A winner of the Derby Day, 'Myer Fashions on the Field' during Melbourne’s Spring racing carnival in 2006 and the Melbourne Cup 'Fashions on the Field' competition in 2011, Sarah has demonstrated both flair and determination. In 2006, she went on to win the National 'Fashions on the Field' Award. She has also won the perhaps more prestigious French
Mittelmoda Mare di Moda for her swimwear designs.
Educated at Geelong College from 1998 to 2004 and a member of Wettenhall House, she pursued a Bachelor of Design (Fashion) at RMIT in Melbourne. Sarah moved to Paris in 2009 when she was subsequently offered a position in the prestigious
Institut Francais de la Mode in Paris which only takes 18 students from across the world each year. She majored in accessories. As part of her course Sarah completed a project for Christian Dior for a collection of sunglasses. Following this project Christian Dior offered Sarah a position with the company. She has worked with Luis Vuitton, Nina Ricci, Versace and Jacquemus.
She returned to Australia in 2016 to spend time with her family and complete her masters degree at RMIT. In 2017 she displayed her designs on the Premium Runway of Melbourne Fashion Week.
Sarah’s interests at School covered more than fashion. She was an active sports participant during her years at School in swimming and cross-country running – a member of the Athletics Team from 1999 to 2004 and the Stroke of the Girls 1st Rowing VIII of 2004.
Sarah Hope Schofield was inducted into the OGCA Gallery of Notable Collegians in 2016. She was described by the OGCA:
