K H Taylor Cup for Music
There are two separate House Systems - one at the Middle School Campus and one at the Senior School Campus.
The Preparatory School introduced a separate House System in 1921 with two houses,
Bellerophon House and
Pegasus House. When numbers became too large Rolland House was introduced in 1947, winning the sports House Championship that same year. It was renamed
Helicon House when students were re-divided among the houses in 1948.
In 1962 the House Names were removed and only colours were used as some students were required to swap Houses.
In 1963, the current House System was established with a further House,
Minerva House, being introduced.
The modern structure includes four houses: Bellerophon (colour - blue); Helicon (colour – College green); Minerva (colour – maroon) and Pegasus (colour – white).
Bellerophon, Pegasus and Minerva Houses use the mythological creatures of their names as symbols. The House System at Middle School (Primary and Secondary) is used solely for sporting competition and not for pastoral care as at the Senior School. In earlier years there were House Standards and Music competition at various times.
