KNIGHT, Barry Sydney James


Born on 8 January 1948, the son of W S Knight, Barry Knight was enrolled at Geelong College from 12 February 1958 to March 1963. He had previously attended Herne Hill State School.

During the Vietnam War, he served (No. R65571) in the Royal Australian Navy (RAN). Pegasus of September 1967 reported that he 'had some months aboard HMAS Hobart in action off North Vietnam'. The Department of Veterans’ Affairs lists him with Vietnam Service as an Ordinary Seaman (Electrical Mechanic) with the Royal Australian Navy on HMAS Hobart from 7 March 1967 to 27 September 1967.

His brother, Alan Knight, was also educated at Geelong College.
