KNOX, Michael John (1944-2024)

Michael was a student at the College from 1956-1962. At the Preparatory School, Michael captained the cricket team in 1956, and placed in multiple events for athletics. He continued to play cricket and football at school, captaining the U14A football team, and the U15A and U16A cricket teams. He joined the 1st XI cricket team in 1961-1962 and was presented a trophy for most improvement during the season in 1961. A year earlier he had joined the 1st XVIII football team, which he played in for three years. He was also a member of the Athletics team 1961-1962. Michael received multiple school and house colours for athletics, cricket and football, and served on the related committees. In his final year at College he was appointed School Prefect, Senior House Captain and Shannon Sports House Captain.

Following school, Michael returned to the family property at Table Top near Albury. He married Anne and they have two children. Michael remained in contact with many of the friends he made at College, and attended reunions.

Michael passed away 13 May 2024, aged 79 years.
