MAHAR, Andrew John, AM


Andrew Mahar, community activist, is a co-founder and project director with 'WithOneSeed' and is a community organiser in both Australia and the Asia Pacific Region.

In the Queen's Birthday Honours in 2013, Andrew became a Member of the Order of Australia 'For significant service to the community and social justice through the provision of access to technology, and to Timor Leste.'

'Andrew has been involved in creating social enterprises for 25 years and in Timor for 10 years and has provided advice and guidance to community sector organisations, government at all levels and the private sector. Andrew has built his knowledge and understanding from practical, hands-on experience working in the not-for-profit field.'

Andrew Mahar was a day student at Geelong College from 9 February 1961 to December 1972.
