MCKINDLAY, Graeme Mackintosh (1957-2023)

Graeme attended primary school in Moama before boarding at the College from 1970, beginning in Form I. At Senior School he was a member of Coles House, becoming House Prefect in 1975. He received cricket house colours and played tennis and football. His father Lachie (OGC 1940) and brothers John (OGC 1970) and Rowland (OGC 1987) also attended the College.

Following a gap year working at Gurley, Graeme studied financial administration at the University of New England, Armidale. After graduating he worked for a year in Sydney before moving back to the country, to Deniliquin. Here Graeme met his future wife Wendy. They married in 1987 and have four children.

In 1991 Graeme became a partner at Fleming Partners where he remained for his working life. He was community minded and involved in various aspects of Deniliquin life. His was an executive member/treasurer of the Deniliquin Park/Sports and Entertainment Centre, as well as involved with the Deniliquin Junior Soccer Club, Triathlon Club, Deniliquin High School P&C, among many other groups.

In 2014 Graeme was named Deniliquin Australia Day Citizen of the Year.

Graeme passed away 29 August 2023, aged 65 years.
