MORONGO SCHOLARSHIP


The Morongo Scholarship is a currently awarded scholarship available to students seeking entry to Year 7 at The Geelong College. The Scholarship, which is valued at three terms' tuition fees and tenable for six years is open to a female student of outstanding academic ability. The scholarship is usually awarded every six years.

The Morongo Scholarships were funded from the surplus assets remaining after liquidation of Morongo Girls' College Ltd and subject to an agreement dated 31 January 1998 and approved by the Uniting Church in Australia, Synod of Victoria. These funds were to be used generate income to award scholarships for female students and future students of the College. The Scholarships were to be awarded at the discretion of the Principal. The first Morongo Scholarship was a warded in 1999.
