NETBALL (Sport)


Netball was first noted as a College sport in Pegasus of 1977 although an image of the 1st Netball Team of 1976 clearly indicates an earlier organised competition.

Initially, all school netball was played in the local Geelong Netball Association (GNA) which as a graded competition was very strong. In August 1991, Ad Astra noted that the girls were playing in the APS competition. Four teams were playing in the APS competition by 1993.

The Preparatory School in 1996 had one netta team, five Primary netball teams and eight Secondary netball teams playing in competition. In addition to the APS competition thirteen teams were entered into a new ‘Life Be In It’, Friday night competition in 2002.
