SALMON, Dr Henry Robert (1861-1910)


Born in London to John Salmon and Marianne nee Sharp on 14 May 1861, Henry Salmon became a boarder at Geelong College on 29 January 1874. His address at the time was given as 'Holmwood', Brighton, Victoria.

He married Alice Jane Walter (1865-1947). Henry died at Ballarat on 19 October 1910.

His son, John Walter Salmon (1889-1956); and grandsons, William Arthur Salmon (1928-2018), and Brigadier John Robert Salmon CBE (1926-2013); were also educated at Geelong College.

Though his other sons; Robert Arthur Salmon (1892-1983), Wilfred Graham Salmon (1894-1917), Geoffrey Salmon (1896-1968), and Ronald Cresswell Salmon (1901-1994), did not attend College many of their descendants did.
