RANDELL, Ormond Lewis (1887-1935)


Ormond Lewis Randell met a tragic death when driving his own car at Bendigo on the 8 June 1935.

He was born on 1 April 1887, the son of James Randell and Mary Frances nee Jones and, in 1924, married Ruth Nea McLaurin Ridge. He was a day student at Geelong College from 1897 until probably 1902. His address at entry was Pakington St, Newtown.

'He took a keen interest in the Old Geelong Collegians’ Association (OGCA), having been elected Vice-President of the Old Victorian Public Schools' Association of Bendigo, and was interested in the local Racing Club and other ‘public movements’ .

His son, John Ormond Randell (1926-1986) also attended the College.
