RICHARDSON, Arthur Ernest (1852-1920)

RICHARDSON, Arthur Ernest (c1852-1920)

Arthur Ernest Richardson was enrolled at Geelong College in about 1868 as, although there is no enrolment record covering this period, he is listed in the Annual Report of 1868 as being awarded second prize in Practical Mathematics in that year. As he does not appear in the student enrolment list of 1871 it is likely that he had left by 1870.

He was the son of John Richardson (1819-1876), a Geelong druggist, and his second wife Annie née Matthews (1834-1921). Arthur married Minnie Beatrice nee Elliott (1863-1945) in 1887 and had three daughters: Ethel Beatrice Richardon (1888-1975), Violet Eveline Richardson (1890-1968) and Hilda Maud Richardson (1895-1985).

His brother Horace Frank Richardson (1854-1935) was also educated at Geelong College.
