ROBERTS, Reginald Albert John (1892-1962)


Reginald Albert John Roberts was born on 26 October 1892, to parents, John Albert Wadsworth Roberts and Eveline Alice nee West.

He was a day student at Geelong College commencing in 1906 and leaving in 1908. His address at entry was Pakington Street, Geelong.

During World War I, he enlisted (No. 4196) in the AIF with 6th Field Ambulance on 31 May 1915 and embarked on RMS Persia on 10 August for Egypt. He then embarked for France where he served through the campaigns on the Western Front, and in Belgium until the end of the war. He returned to Australia, embarking on 27 April 1919.

His younger brother, Leonard Edmund Wadsworth Roberts (1895-1918), died on 2 September 1918 of wounds sustained near Peronne during World War I.
