SCHOOL ON THE HILL (Music)

THE SCHOOL ON THE HILL,

This term was in common use referring to the School on Newtown Hill. It was used as the title of the Geelong College School Song of the 1920s by Kenneth McIntyre who wrote the words when in Form VI, 1927 (see Pegasus, December 1928). This term is also used as a title of a publication containing reproductions of a series of five pastel studies of the Geelong College by Janet Cumbrae-Stewart published in about 1938.

Other School related songs of interest include: 'The College Toast'; Jubilation; 'Cottage Pie'; and Sic Itur Ad Astra (Music).
