The Geelong College blazer pocket is the badge of our school and the symbols embroidered on it grow as students progress through the years. Each student begins with the school crest, the Pegasus symbol. Then their involvement in sport, House activities, arts, academic achievements, and school leadership will be recorded on their blazer pocket. A coloured ribbon denotes their Senior School House and House awards are embroidered on to it. School honours and colours are added to the body of the pocket. The school coat of arms replaces the Pegasus crest when a student receives an Honour Award or when a student is appointed House Captain (white coat of arms), or School Prefect (coloured coat of arms).
The blazer pockets we know today have their foundation in the early 1900s. They have evolved over the years – from the symbols added and modified to the embroidery techniques and materials. Below is a selection of blazer pockets from the College’s history (
