J Wainwright, 1956


John Wainwright was born 2 November 1939 to Edmund and Rita, Horsham. John would only spend a short but impactful time at The Geelong College. He entered in 1956, beginning Form VG and left in term II. During that time he was joint Boys Open Swimming Champion, a skilled cricketer on the 1st XI, as well as a member of the 3rd XVIII football team and received Calvert house swimming colour.

John would eventually move to the Gold Coast, he married Amanda and they had two children.

John passed away 5 September 2020, aged 80 years.
