WALTON, Dr Sylvia AO (1941-2024)

Sylvia served on The Geelong College Council from 2017 to 2021. She had extensive experience in education and leadership as Principal of Tintern Grammar from 1982-2005, and St Catherine’s School (2007-2013) and Executive Principal of Loreto College Marryatville 2015-2016. She was also Chancellor of LaTrobe University 2006-2011 and held numerous directorships on school, college and university councils. Sylvia was awarded an Order of Australia medal for services to education in 2003, one of many accolades in the industry.
