In the Australia Day Honours of 2019, 'Terry' Wills Cooke of Wallington was awarded Medal (OAM) of the Order of Australia in the general division 'for service to the community:'


His citation for the award of Medal of the Order of Australia is as follow:

• Chair, CEO Institute, since 1993.
• President, Geelong Art Gallery, since 2013.
• Co-Patron, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, current.
• President, Geelong Friends of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, 2006-2017.
• A range of roles with Combined Industry Super Fund, including Deputy Chair and Chair, 1975-2009.
• Board Member, Yarra Valley Grammar School, 1974-1986.
• Former Lecturer, Australian Institute of Management.
• A range of advisory positions on numerous boards, including Austral Group Holdings.
• Fellow, Australian Institute of Company Directors.
• Fellow, Australian Institute of Management.
